A Case of Granuloma Annulare in Early Childhood

Abstract
Granuloma annulare is a benign granulomatous lesion that usually involves the dermis, characterized by clinically flesh colored or pale red colored annularly grouped papules and histopathologically necrobiosis of collagen fiber and infiltration of chronic inflammatory cells.
Patient was a 3-year-old male patient showing multiple 1.5- 4 cm sized, ring shaped, brownish colored plaques with peripheral elevation on the thigh, pretibial and ankle area.
The skin biopsy revealed a histologic finding of focal degeneration of collagen fibers and infiltration of inflammatory cells.
Good result was obtained by skin biopsy and intralesional injection of corticosteroid. This case was the most youngest case of granuloma annulare reported in Korea as far as we know.
